The sister of a missing Onion Lake band member says she’s hopeful a tracker from La Ronge will help provide clues about how the woman vanished.
Violet Marie Heathen, 49, disappeared on May 15.
She is described as 5’7″ and 150 lbs.
She was last seen at the Alberta Hotel in Lloydminster.
Since Heathen disappeared, her sister Ruby Whitstone has searched for some sign of where Violet might be.
She says the RCMP hasn’t been able to provide any answers about the case.
Whitstone says she fears the worst.
“Personally, I think she’s gone — maybe murdered… Other people have said they’ve seen her in Edmonton, I’ve seen her, she’s out there, she’s here and there’. Every time that was told to us, we were right there (looking). We went out to Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer — and always came back empty-handed,” she says.
La Ronge resident Tom Charles is heading out to help the family with the search today or tomorrow.
He says he plans to talk to Mounties who are working on the case, as well as other family members.
Whitstone is asking anyone who knows what may have happened to Violet to step forward.
