Northern Talent Showcase to Hold Auditions

Dozens of musicians and singers from northern communities will be descending on La Ronge this weekend.
They will be trying to land a spot in the second annual “Talent of the North” showcase, which runs during the Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Trappers Festival in February.
Organizer Danny Mirasty says much like the inaugural show, he’s hearing that several northern communities will be well-represented at this weekend’s auditions.
Mirasty readily admits he was inspired by the success of the “Voices of the North” show in Prince Albert when he first got the idea to organize a northern showcase.
But like its name implies, Mirasty says it will be limited to people living in communities north of Prince Albert, Nipawin and Meadow Lake.
Auditions take place at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre tomorrow and Sunday, beginning at 2 p.m. each day.
