The village of Beauval is hosting the 2009 Northern Saskatchewan Sport and Cultural Festival this week.
The festival is held every three to four years, and offers workshops in a wide variety of sports and traditional activities.
From now until Thursday, 160 youth will take part in activities such as bead-making, traditional food preparation, paddle-making, storytelling, wrestling, drama, guitar and badminton workshops.
Event organizer Marcella Lafleur says there should be something for everyone.
Beauval held the event once before, back in the late 1980s, but at that time, the festival was strongly focused on games, and didn’t have as many workshops as it has now, Lafleur says.
