Some expert searchers from northern Saskatchewan are joining the search for a missing girl in Regina.

Now that the Regina police has called off its own ground search for 5-year-old Tamra Keepness, the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations is taking a lead role in coordinating the search.

Searchers from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and the Montreal Lake Cree Nation have volunteered their services and FSIN vice chief Guy Lonechild says the family is grateful for the help.

Lonechild says the girl’s family and the Aboriginal community in Regina is not prepared to abandon the search for Tamra.

Tamra has not been seen since she was put to bed in her family’s home the night of July 5th.
