A new airline is preparing to take off in the North.
Pronto Airways, a privately-owned service, held its official launch yesterday.
It plans to offer weekly flight service in Prince Albert, Points North, Wollaston Lake and La Ronge by February 1st.
Saskatoon and Stony Rapids are to begin accepting flights in the middle of March.
Company vice-president Dennis Baranieski says the idea for the airline started shortly after Norcanair’s demise.
He adds online bookings are already being accepted on the company’s Web site.
Right now, the company has no plans to offer service in Fond du Lac, but Baranieski says that could change in the future.
