Northern Resident Sentenced For Drug Conviction

An Ile-a-la-Crosse man will spend the next year in jail after being convicted of trafficking cocaine.

51-year-old Zacharie Armand Caisse was also found guilty of possessing stolen property and breaching an undertaking.

He was charged in 2005 after undercover officers in Meadow Lake, La Loche, Buffalo Narrows, Ile-a-la-Crosse and other northwest communities seized contraband.

Caisse was sentenced yesterday in Ile-a-la-Crosse Provincial Court.
