A science project is underway in Northern Saskatchewan that could help shed some light on the significance of the mushroom industry.
Dr. Karen Tanino explains she and another colleague are looking at how much yield there is from Chanterelle and Pine Mushrooms in a 26.9 hectare piece of land.
She adds information taken from the study could potentially help companies with stakes in the north, to realize how much value there actually is in mushrooms.
A final report is expected next year.
