Northern MLA’s Receive Critic Files

The MLA for Athabasca says he’s happy to be named the Province’s new Housing Critic.
Buckley Belanger was given the file earlier this week by NDP leader Lorne Calvert.
Belanger says residents in southern Saskatchewan are concerned about finding affordable housing in the cities, and places for students to live. And in northern Saskatchewan, the issues are just as serious.
Belanger adds the Sask Party made numerous promises in the election that he will be watching keenly.
Meanwhile, MLA Joan Beatty was designated the opposition critic for Northern Affairs and Women’s Issues.
She says she will be keeping her eye on the Sask Party to make sure they follow through with several key issues affecting northern Saskatchewan, such as housing, education and northern roads.
