Northern Land Passed Over in Sale

Despite another strong land-sale in the province no northern locations were selected for purchase.

October’s sale brought in two hundred and twenty-three million dollars in revenue for the provincial government.

That brings this year’s total to over one billion dollars.

Earlier this year a company publicly stated its desire to acquire 5 plots of land near Dillon.

However it was learned the government refused their bid saying it was inadequate.

Resources minister Bill Boyd explains the government has to be very careful who it allows to harvest the province’s resources, and he’s not sure how strong the next land-sale will be due to the global economic crisis but he feels things will be OK.
