High speed Internet service is now available to eight more locations in Northern Saskatchewan.

Sasktel is providing the service to Canoe Narrows, Denare Beach, Pelican Narrows, Hall Lake, Patuanak, Stanley Mission, Southend and Montreal Lake.

It’s part of what is known as the Northern Broadband Network initiative, which will eventually provide high speed Internet service to 35 Northern communities.

That project will cost $11.6 million to implement.

The Northern Broadband Network consists of the Prince Albert Grand Council, Meadow Lake Tribal Council and New North.

The Keewatin Career Development Corporation is providing technical support.
