Northern Health Region Not Satisfied With Status

The Mamawetan Churchill River Regional Health Authority is seeking a higher level of accreditation status.

Accreditation surveyors will be in La Ronge for the second time in three years when they arrive on June 12 for the survey process.

In 2002, the health region was awarded the second-highest level of accreditation that can be given, and officials believe substantial improvements have been made over the last three years.

Over the four-day evaluation, the surveyors review documents, speak with accreditation team members, staff, the public, patients and community partners.

Spokewoman Teresa Heinrichs says this type of survey is aimed at giving community members confidence in the level of quality health care they receive.

The two clinics involved in this survey will be the La Ronge Medical Clinic and the Pinehouse Health Centre.
