Several people with a stake in northern health are in La Ronge today for a 3-day gathering.
The 2nd Annual Northern Health Conference is bringing together officials and health professionals from the three northern regional health authorities and First Nations health agencies.
The northern municipal group New North is hosting the event, and Ile-a-la-Crosse mayor Max Morin is glad community leaders are taking an active role in putting this gathering together.
Morin says mayors and chiefs have a big role to play in health promotion and can’t leave all the work to health professionals.
Today’s agenda includes a review of northern health status reports and a presentation on what needs to happen in the area of prevention.
