Northern Games Called Off — Again

The Northern Saskatchewan Games and Cultural Festival that was supposed to be held in Cumberland House in July has now been cancelled.

The Northern Recreation Coordinating Committee had hoped to hold the event this year after flooding in the northern village forced them to postpone it last summer.

But the NRCC says circumstances beyond its control will prevent organizers from going ahead with that plan.

However, the group is now calling for bids from northern communities to host what’s being called a “Northwide Cultural Gathering” this fall.
