Almost 50 firefighters from northern Saskatchewan arrived home yesterday after completing a tour of duty in British Columbia.

Provincial fire protection branch spokeswoman Jeanette Krayetski says the members returning home spent 14 days in British Columbia helping fight forest fires there.

She adds conditions in that province have improved to the point where fire officials have dropped their request for outside assistance.

Krayetski says fire conditions in Saskatchewan are low, but there are 8 blazes they are keeping their eyes on.
