RCMP are continuing to investigate the sudden death of a 33 year-old man in northern Saskatchewan.

It was this past Friday that an unidentified male and his wife were out boating on Nagle Lake when they were forced to go ashore due to a sudden storm.

Officers in Stanley Mission say the two apparently fell asleep together, but when the woman woke up she found her husband dead. The woman was also suffering from minor burns.

No official cause of death has been released. However today a spokeswoman for the force told reporters the incident could possibly have been caused by a lightning strike to the tree the man was lying near.

The victim is reportedly from the Birch Hills area. An autopsy is pending.
