Northern By-election Advance Polls Open

Advance polls for the federal by-election in the Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River riding opened today.

 

There are 18 different polling stations located in communities across northern Saskatchewan.

 

They are open from noon to 8:00 pm today, tomorrow and Monday.

 

The regular polls will be open March 17th.

 

Even though the constituency is one of the largest and most sparsely-populated in Canada, returning officer Marlene Wolkosky says there should be a polling station near most residents.

 

Wolkosky says constituents should already have their voter information cards.

 

She says if anyone is unable to make it to the advance poll or the regular poll, they can call a toll-free number to make arrangements to get their vote in.
