Norman Charged With Mischief, Assault

A La Ronge teen accused of setting a fire that killed a young couple and their baby boy is now facing even more charges.

Nineteen-year-old Blake David Norman has been charged with one count of mischief, and one of assault with a weapon.

The new charges are in addition to the three counts of manslaughter and one count of arson that Norman already faces, in connection with a triple fatality caused by a fire at La Ronge’s Lakeview Apartments.

La Ronge Provincial Court Judge Felicia Daunt had scheduled a review of the evidence against Norman this afternoon.

However, Norman’s lawyer, Ron Piche, asked the court to set over the proceedings so he could review the new charges against his client.

Norman is now back in custody, pending his new court appearance next Monday.
