A spokesperson for the Regina Police Service says blood tests on a deceased teenager could provide more clues as to how the girl died.

At the same time, Elizabeth Popowich says it could be months until those results are back.

Last Friday, police in the city got a report of a body in a backyard.

It turned out to be the remains of 17-year-old Tara-Lynn Poorman, who had been missing since mid-December.

Popowich says, at this point, there is nothing to indicate foul play occurred, but the police will keep investigating.

Popowich adds the file will remain open until all the proper steps have been taken.
