A Muskeg Lake band member recently handed an advisory position at the University of Saskatchewan says her primary goal is to help the university attract and retain students.

Joan Greyeyes began her new job as Special Advisor on Aboriginal Initiatives at the U. of S. yesterday.

She says she will promote and deliver programs to support Aboriginal students.

Greyeyes says she wants to build on the success Indian Teacher Education Program, and would also like to see more Aboriginal students in other colleges and entering post-graduate studies.

She hopes Aboriginal community members will feel comfortable making suggestions to her, as well.
