Two Metis men were sworn into the Saskatoon Police Service yesterday . . . . along with 14 other men and women.
Constable Adam Blades grew up in southern Alberta before applying to be a peace officer.
Blades says he knew he wanted to do the job after going on a ride-along with a cousin who is an officer.
Blades says having someone Metis like himself on the force is good, because it gives Metis and other Aboriginal people an officer they can
identify with.
Blades is one of 11 constables who will be attending police college before beginning regular duties in Saskatoon.
