Northern Saskatchewan’s municipal lobby group is looking for someone to help it plan for the future.

The chief executive officer for New North, Boyd Clark, explains the government has given his group $260,000 to hire a regional planner over the next three years.

Clark says the aim is to find someone who can help the North get ready for the economic and municipal challenges ahead.

He notes New North will consider applicants from all areas for the position, and won’t necessarily hire a northerner.

Clark hopes to have someone working in the new post by March.
