New North Questioning Value Of Budget

The chair of New North says Finance Minister Jim Flaherty’s financial plan unveiled this week is long on promise but short on details.
Georgina Jolibois says it’s not clear how much money municipalities will have to pony up for infrastructure projects in their area.
She says the uncertainty is difficult to swallow.
Jolibois notes a single sewage project can cost millions of dollars.
She says it will be difficult for projects like that to go ahead if northern Saskatchewan municipalities are supposed to pay a third of the cost.
