Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River MP Rob Clarke believes his Aboriginal background will be useful on a couple of parliamentary committees he finds himself on.

Clarke was recently appointed to both the Veterans Committee and the Aboriginal Affairs Committee.

Clarke says he’s curious to see how each political party deals with Aboriginal issues.

He also says he hasn’t had an opportunity to raise specific issues from his constituency — but he is familiarizing fellow committee members with First Nations customs.

Clarke says now that he is a bit more familiar with the two committees, he will begin to voice the concerns of his constituents.
