Ina Fietz-Ray is the new chair of New North, northern Saskatchewan’s municipal lobby group.

The newly-elected Sandy Bay mayor replaces outgoing chair Dale McAuley, who failed to hang on to the mayor’s seat in Cumberland House.

Fietz-Ray helped lead the organization in its early days in the late 1990s.

La Loche mayor Georgina Jolibois is the new vice-chair of New North, while Air Ronge mayor Gordon Stomp is the secretary-treasurer.

The positions were decided this morning at New North’s AGM in Prince Albert.

Creighton mayor Bruce Fidler and Doris McDonald of Stony Rapids also made the executive.
