New Court Date Set For MNC

The Metis National Council could be getting back to business in a couple of weeks.

A court date has been set for December 19th to address who will be the delegates to vote in the next MNC Assembly.

Some of the MNC board members say provincial leaders should be able to choose delegates.

Former President Clem Chartier doesn’t see it that way.

Chartier hopes the issue can be settled at a settlement conference scheduled two days prior to the court date.

He says they will discuss when and where the next assembly will be, which he hopes will be the end of January or beginning of February.

Chartier plans to run again, and says even if the courts don’t rule in his favour on the delegates issue, he will not appeal.
