Workers at Wapawekka Lumber have agreed to a new deal.

At a meeting this week, 77 per cent of workers agreed to a new contract. No details were announced.

An official from Weyerhaeuser said earlier this fall the closure of the Prince Albert Pulp and Paper Mill shouldn’t directly affect the mill.

Wapawekka is jointly-owned by the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, the Montreal Lake Cree Nation and the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.
