New Chief in English River

There is a new chief at the English River First Nation.

Tobie Aubichon won the election for band chief in Patuanak this past Friday with 112 votes.

Aubichon defeated 4 other candidates in the running for chief, including the incumbent, Alfred Dawatsare, and another former chief, Archie Campbell.

Aubichon finished 32 votes ahead of Campbell and 77 ahead of Dawatsare.

Aubichon’s new band council consists of Etienne Black, Marie Black, Frankie Campbell, Patrick Campbell, Ronald Campbell and Cynthia John.
