The president of the First Nations Bank of Canada says he’s very pleased with the progress of the bank’s new branch in Meadow Lake.

The branch, located on the Flying Dust First Nation’s new on-reserve administration centre, opened for business on December 15th — and the grand opening was held last week.

Arden Buskell says the branch is averaging about 100 new accounts a month, which is very close to what bank executives had predicted.

Buskell says Meadow Lake is not a brand new market for the First Nations Bank, because it has had customers in that area for quite some time.
