NDP Questions Government Over Uranium Report

NDP leader Lorne Calvert is slamming the provincial government for not releasing a report by the Uranium Development Partnership.

Calvert says the government is withholding information citizens deserve to hear.

He says questions need to be asked about what the government will do if construction of a nuclear reactor goes over-budget.

He says Bruce Power has openly admitted construction will be extremely expensive.

Meantime first nations and metis relations minister June Draude says support for nuclear power exists in the north.

However she notes a number of environmental questions have to be answered first.

The opposition says aside from the report, all the public has seen is a feasibility study that was written by Bruce Power
