NDP Leadership Hopeful Headed North

One of the candidates in the race for the leadership of the NDP is travelling to the west-side today.

Ryan Meili will talk with local citizens about his platform today in Ile a’la crosse at 1 p.m., then Dillon at 7 p.m.

The Saskatoon resident is a doctor who used to live and work in Ile a’la crosse.

He says he sees great disparities in health outcomes and economic advantages for aboriginal people compared to the rest of the population.

He says he will work to change that if elected.

Meili says too often government takes good ideas to the policy table without consulting communities along the way.
