The NDP MLA for Athabasca says questions need to be asked about a proposed uranium deal involving seven Saskatchewan First Nations.
Buckley Belanger says he supports the idea behind the partnership, which would see Triple Five Energy developing uranium on lands belonging to bands — including the English River First Nation.
However, he wants to know what the company has promised to band citizens, the goal of the project, and why companies like Cameco and Areva aren’t involved.
Belanger says the public needs to be made fully aware about what is taking place.
