Nawakayas Re-elected At Red Earth

The Red Earth Cree Nation has re-elected Miller Nawakayas as chief.

Numbers aren’t available yet, but the band is reporting Nawakayas was the winner in Friday’s band election.

Band councillors elected include Ina Woodhead, Harold Head, Curtis McKay and Charlie McKay.

Both Woodhead and Head are new to the position.

All the candidates will serve 3-year terms in office.
