The latest participants in the RCMP’s Aboriginal Youth Training Program are set to receive their certificates today.

A total of 32 men and women from reserves and communities across the country have spent the last 17 weeks learning about law enforcement and what it takes to be an officer.

Their training includes public speaking, problem-solving skills, cultural diversity and physical fitness.

Following today’s graduation ceremony, the participants will head back to their respective communities to complete their training.

The youth will then work under the guidance of RCMP officers to gather first-hand knowledge of the job.

They include Darren Isbister of Prince Albert and Jacqueline Robillard of Black Lake.
