A call is going out to Aboriginal northerners in the civil service to tell their stories to school children.

As part of a recent initiative from the province’s public service commission, Aboriginal government workers are visiting students in Grades 6, 7 and 8 to let them know the benefits of their job.

Project co-ordinator Linda Anderson says its purpose is to address an alarming drop-out rate of Aboriginal kids throughout the province.

Anderson says the program will get into full swing this fall.
