N. Battleford Picked As Host For Municipal Meet-up

North Battleford has been asked to host the 8th annual Western Municipalities Aboriginal Gathering next year.

City councillor Ray Fox says he received that request during this year’s gathering in Winnipeg, which wrapped up late last week.

Fox says delegates were so impressed with what’s been going on in North Battleford that they want to come and see for themselves.

He says he is proud of what the city has accomplished, and hopes many of the municipal leaders will come next year.

Fox says when North Battleford council meets June 8, he plans to make a formal request for North Battleford to host the event.

It will be held in May 2010.

Fox expects 75 to 100 delegates to attend from across the country.
