The Muskoday First Nation is taking the wraps off a brand new school on its reserve today.

Until now, students on the reserve have had to travel to Birch Hills or Prince Albert for their education.

However, principal Sharon Laflamme says that will all change this year as 140 Kindergarten to Grade 9 students will be able to study on their home reserve.

Laflamme says cultural teachings and environmental concerns will make up much of the curriculum at the new school.

She adds the school already has a deal with the University of Saskatchewan and plans to offer water studies as part of that partnership.
