The Muskoday First Nation is working towards getting certified as an organic supplier of potatoes.
Yesterday, the band held a tour of its gardens on the reserve, for the benefit of local residents as well as industry representatives.
One official said it can take months to get certified, but that’s what you need to begin marketing on a wide-scale.
He estimates the band has as many as 100,000 lbs already.
Around 25 people showed up for the tour, including a film crew from the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN).
