Murdoch Carriere Trial Begins Today

The trial of a former high-ranking official with the Saskatchewan government begins this afternoon.

 

Murdoch Carriere, originally from Cumberland House, was charged with several counts of sexual assault back in November of 2003.

 

The accusations were alleged to have taken place during his time as a director of the Saskatchewan Forest Fire Centre in Prince Albert.

 

In the end, the charges were reduced to two counts of sexual assault and two counts of common assault.

 

His trial is taking place at Court of Queen’s Bench in Prince Albert and scheduled to last until Friday.
