Band officials from the Red Pheasant First Nation have confirmed that the victim severly assaulted on the reserve last week was originally from Buffalo Narrows.

The victim in the vicious assault, Thomas Joseph Aubichon, succumbeded to his injuries on Sunday.

RCMP spokesman Corporal Brian Jones says the four individuals originally charged with aggravated assault now face new charges of second-degree murder.

The four male teenagers were released from custody on June 3rd, but as a result of Aubichon’s death, they have been arrested a second time.

18-year-old Colin Moosomin, 19-year-old Bradley Wahobin and the two males under the age of 18 were scheduled to appear in court today to face the new charges.

Red Pheasant band officials say Aubichon’s body has been returned to Buffalo Narrows for burial.
