The RCMP have released the name of the man accused of killing his wife in Dillon this past weekend.

53-year-old Dillon resident Paul Isaac Montgrand made a court appearance in Beauval yesterday on a charge of second-degree murder.

Montgrand was arrested after local RCMP came across the body of 62-year-old Carol Riviere outside the local school early Saturday morning.

Riviere was a schoolteacher in Dillon.

Grief and crisis counsellors were called in earlier this week to help students and teachers deal with the incident.

Montgrand’s next court appearance is scheduled for February 22nd in Buffalo Narrows.
