A 29-year-old female Mountie originally from the Beardy’s/Okemasis remains in serious condition in intensive care at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon after being shot Friday near Spiritwood.
Constable Robin Cameron and 26-year-old Constable Marc Bourdages were both shot by a man they had been pursuing in their police cruiser.
According to the RCMP, the two officers were shot by the suspect after the suspect’s vehicle came to a stop.
The shooter then fled the scene on foot, but not before he was shot at by a third officer on the scene.
It’s not clear if the suspect was injured, but at last word, he hadn’t been apprehended.
A massive manhunt is underway for 41-year-old Curtis Alfred Dagenais of Spiritwood. Roadblocks have also been set up in the area.
Cameron has been stationed in Spiritwood since being transferred from the Beauval detachment in 2003.
She has an 11-year-old daughter.
Bourdages has previously been stationed in Pelican Narrows.
He is married to a fellow RCMP officer in Spiritwood. The couple has a 9-month-old son.
