If the First Nations University of Canada wants 200-thousand dollars from the province, it’s going to have to change how it’s governed.

That’s the message from Advanced Education Minster Rob Norris.

Norris says the university has until June to create a smaller board of directors and a senate.

He says those changes are needed to make the university more accountable.

Norris says, the government is not kidding and so far, the message from the university has been unclear.

But he’s hoping some movement will be made because the future of the students is at stake.

Spokesmen for the university did not return phone calls.
