Sentences have been handed down to three men who were involved in a violent death at the Montreal Lake Cree Nation last summer.

Barry Henderson, Ryan Bird and Brian Henderson all pleaded guilty to various actions associated with the death of David Bradfield.

The 33-year-old Bradfield was discovered badly injured by officers the morning of July 3rd at a residence on the reserve.

He died shortly thereafter.

Barry Henderson pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to five years in prison.

Brian Henderson and Ryan Bird, meanwhile, pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm and each received one year’s probation.

They were also credited with seven months’ time served.
