MNS Protesters Abide By Court Order

Officials with the RCMP say both Highway 165 and Highway 914 are open to commercial traffic.

A roadblock that had been threatened by the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan at the junction of the two highways is currently not in effect.

RCMP spokesperson Heather Russell says members of the MNS stood beside the highway early Friday afternoon, but allowed traffic to pass through.

She also says everyone assembled at the junction left at around 3:30 yesterday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, Cameco announced it had received an injunction against a roadblock through Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench.

That information had apparently been received by MNS officials who arrived at the scene.

RCMP continue to monitor the situation.
