The Metis Nation of Saskatchewan says it’s not impressed by an energy company’s plan to pipe oil from Alberta to the American Midwest.

In a news release today, the MNS says metis were NOT consulted about the move, which will affect some of their residents.

According to the release, Enbridge Pipelines Incorporated recently applied to the National Energy Board for permission to build a 1,000 kilometre pipeline from Alberta to the U.S.

The line would apparently run through our province as well.

MNS president Robert Doucette say they’re not against the pipeline, but they want to be consulted.
