A preliminary hearing date has been set for a former high-ranking Metis politician in Saskatchewan accused of election forgery.

Ralph Kennedy was charged last year after an RCMP investigation determined numerous irregularities had occurred in the 2004 Metis Nation of Saskatchewan election.

A total of ten people were charged in the affair, including Kennedy, who was MNS secretary at the time.

Yesterday in court, he was accompanied by three other people who also stand accused of forgery.

One of them, Cheryl Gervais, will appear in court again later this month.

Kennedy will be back in court next February for the start of his preliminary hearing.
