Metis Nation – Saskatchewan President Robert Doucette says he is looking forward to working with the new premier.
He says he has a few issues he wants to discuss with Brad Wall, but he wants to establish a working relationship first.
Doucette notes Wall has promised First Nations a seat on the board of Enterprise Saskatchewan, and the MN-S president is hoping the new premier intends to include a Metis representative, as well.
Doucette says he also wants to look at the duty to consult issue with Wall, and looks forward to seeing who Wall will appoint as the next Minister of First Nations and Metis Relations.
Doucette adds the MN-S will invite the new premier to its upcoming Louis Riel Day activities, as well as its next legislative assembly.
