MN-S Addresses Nuclear Safety Commission

The Metis Nation – Saskatchewan is making a presentation in Saskatoon today, as Cameco applies to renew its Beaverlodge mine operating license.

Originally, the MN-S feared no Metis directly affected by the mine would be able to present at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission hearing, because it was initially set to be heard in Ottawa, something the MNS called ridiculous.

The MN-S is one of eight parties making a presentation at the hearing.

During the next two days, Cameco will also provide updates on its McArthur River, Key Lake, and Rabbit Lake mines, and it is also applying to renew its construction license at Cigar Lake.
