MLA Says Fort McMurray Road is Still a Priority

The MLA for Meadow Lake says the provincial government continues to press Alberta to finish its side of a proposed road from Fort McMurray to La Loche.

According to a spokesman for the ministry of highways, Saskatchewan has basically finished it’s portion of the road with just a few kilometres left to be graded.

However at last word the project still wasn’t even on Alberta’s 5 year capital plan.

Jeremy Harrison says he’s pushed hard for the road in the past and the government will keep doing its best.

Premier Stelmach has gone on record in the past as saying the cost of the road on the Alberta side is a prohibitive factor.
