The man assigned to review the thorny issue of the northern overtime exemption says, despite what some people might think, he hasn’t made up his mind yet.

Regina MLA Ron Harper says a recent meeting this week with the Saskatchewan Mining Association only served to remind him some people think he has a fixed agenda to see the exemption ended.

Harper says nothing could be further from the truth.

He says he knows many workers in northern camps operate under a 77-hour work week, and that’s fine in itself.

He maintains he’s more interested in seeing how the exemption is impacting the North as a whole.
